Aerotek CNC Lathe Machinist in Fullerton, California
Description:
Large aerospace manufacturer in Fullerton. They have a diverse portfolio of products. Ideally looking for lead/supervisor exp.
They are looking for a 2nd shift CNC Lathe Machinist who is capable of the following:
Setting up and operating 2 axis, sub-spindle, and y-axis lathe machines
Select correct feeds and speeds for various materials including stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum
Responsible for holding close tolerances to manufacture aerospace parts
Perform first article inspections of products, as well as in process with calipers, micrometers
Utilizing threads for both tapping and chasing of external and internal chassis
Interpret blueprints for creation of parts
For lathes, we will be running DMG Mori with live tooling, y-axis, and secondary spindle. There will be some work on a Mazak with a tailstock.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in set up and operation of CNC Lathe machines. Lead exp a plus
The ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
Thorough understanding of setting tool offsets and live tooling (milling cutters)
Knowledge of setting up CNC lathe/mill operations for use with ferrous, bar, and extrusion in various alloys
Strong knowledge of calipers, micrometers, height gage, and various other measuring instruments
Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering data
Ability to edit programs (G&M codes)
