Our client north of Syracuse, NY is looking to add a Senior Controls Engineer to their growing team! This is a very exciting opportunity for someone who has 8 years of electrical/controls design experience under their belt. Candidates should be very familiar with industrial automation as well as HMI Programming experience. Candidates will need a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineer and a knowledge of certain codes/regulations within designing systems. responsibilities:
Work independently and serve as a subject matter expert across multiple competencies.
Establish project approach and provide guidance, designing control systems for continuous web handling machinery to meet specified requirements, particularly focusing on complex projects.
Direct project team members in hardware and software design tasks.
Coordinate and lead reviews of mechanical, electrical, and process designs to ensure alignment with technical, commercial, and customer requirements.
Lead engineering standardization initiatives, promote design for manufacturing practices, and implement best practices across assigned projects.
Proactively support the development and success of engineers and other employees through training, technical guidance, and opportunities to showcase their abilities.
Assist with assembly, purchasing, and field service support, offering guidance to proposal and product management teams.
Represent our client as a subject matter expert in customer meetings.
Lead and actively participate in project design reviews, production meetings, and project planning sessions.
Travel as necessary for customer visits, vendor meetings, and start-ups.
