Job description The Plant Accountant is a supportive team member responsible for assisting the Plant Controller with gathering, recording, analyzing and reporting all aspects of the plant financial statements and month-end close in a manufacturing environment. The position will adhere to all company policies, accounting procedures and financial controls including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance. This position has supervisory responsibilities to include training and mentoring accounts payable and payroll clerk positions. Key Responsibilities: Daily/weekly/monthly accounting duties including the preparation of weekly cost reports, financial statements, month-end close, bank reconciliations with foreign exchange, wire transfers, reclassification of expenses. Process weekly payroll, answer questions regarding tax withholdings, direct deposit and benefit administration including annual Open Enrollment. Ad-hoc accounting activity as necessary to support plant operations. Attend plant management meetings to present financial data as required. Assist with the W-2 process and annual inventory. Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience in manufacturing required. Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office with demonstrated efficiency with Excel and AS400. Exceptional problem solving, analytical and technical skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information. High level of proficiency with demonstrated attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal skills in a team-based environment.
