Provides detailed guidance in all areas of public relations/corporate communications for assigned business units/operation companies utilizing expertise in communications. Develops communication strategies for internal and external initiates that drive strategic performance based communications.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1) Writes, develops and administrates complex communications assignments.
2) Leads communications support to assigned business unit or operating company. This includes: media relations, community relations, internal communications, public relations, social media, script writing, video editing, etc.
3) Coordination of corporate branding and local advertising efforts; manages application of corporate identity standards in printed and electronic communications. Counsel Line of Business and enterprise clients on the standards.
4) Coordinates or participates in special events, open houses, promotional display programs and other services to support internal, external and community relations activities and to support marketing and customer communications efforts.
5) Works effectively across all levels of the organization and uses knowledge of company history and business direction to deliver best practices in organizational internal and external communications. Meets expectations and requirements of internal clients establishing working relationships with them. Principal elements include media relations, employee and customer communication, community and educational programs, special communications, projects and events.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements are listed below: Bachelor's degree in, journalism, advertising, communications, public relations or related field. Master's degree preferred but not required.
Work Experience requirement listed below: Five (5) years experience as a Communications Consult Sr or eight (8) years of equivalent experience in a corporate/agency/nonprofit newspaper or broadcast news environment.

1.Exhibits strong proficiency in the broad range of Communications skills and activities.
2.Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing to present ideas clearly and develops and delivers effective presentations. Committed to innovation and continuous improvement and able to teach and learn new skills.
3.Create/approve content for Corporate or OPCo internal/external web pages. Reviews advertising concepts/copy for corporate and customized-OPCo ads. Direct community relations strategy & activities. Respond to complex media inquiries. Write video scripts when expertise in needed.
4.Ability to conduct interviews and write news stories for internal print and electronic media. Research and write news releases. Drives communication efforts of business unit or operating company which includes delivering storm restoration communications.
5.Develop ideas and write video scripts, shoot and edit videos for news items and stories. Provide support for internal and external websites. Provide local media response and after-hours media duty in rotation with other staff (OPCOs)Support customer outreach initiatives including providing content for external events, presentations, etc. Lead speakers bureau. Develop and respond to social and media posts.
