Job Description:

The General Accounting and Financial Reporting Department is an integral member of the University of Florida’s ongoing fiscal achievements. This team member will support the daily accounting performance and strategic initiatives within the office, co-author the development and distribution of critical University financial reports, develop positive and open working relationships with members of the university community and monitor fiscal data that is utilized in various reports, including the University’s Annual Financial Report. Provides insight and coordination of year end tasks and deadlines as well as reviews current processes for efficiency and effectiveness.

This position, part of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting department within the CFO Division, is responsible for assisting in the preparation and distribution of various University financial reports. This position is critical to the compiling of financial data that is utilized in various reports, especially the University’s annual financial report. The incumbent will coordinate year end tasks and deadlines as it pertains to the annual financial report.

Expected Salary:

$65,000 - $75,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

This position must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word. Also, have extensive knowledge/understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Ability to analyze and solve problems, interpret, and recommend solutions or changes.

Excellent customer service skills, including strong written and verbal communications skills. Ability to work effectively I both team and individual settings.

Experience with fiscal operations, using PeopleSoft and/or managing general ledgers, at the University of Florida is preferred.

Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others, to understand, interpret and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently.
