The Opportunity and Job Description
P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School (DRS) is seeking to hire a K-12 School Psychologist for the 2024-2025 school year. Responsibilities include:
Consult with teachers, administrators, parents, and students and provide assistance in developing intervention strategies
Administer, score, and interpret psychological and/or educational tests
Write psychoeducational evaluation reports
Attend staffing and other school conferences related to program planning for individual students
Participate in, develop, and conduct in-service education programs
Assist schools in providing individual and group counseling, consultation, and referral services
Participate as a member of Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Multidisciplinary Teams (MDT) for program eligibility/placement/IEP staffing and in re-evaluation committees
Participate as a member of individual schools' Educational Planning Team (EPT), and coordinate data in making recommendations and decisions about students
Participate as a member of individual school's/district Crisis Management Teams when needed
Maintain accurate records of psychoeducational evaluations completed and of services rendered
Use technology effectively
Analyze and interpret information to make diagnoses and recommendations regarding needs for services
Provide direct observation and/or crisis intervention as necessary
Recognize overt indicators of student distress or abuse and take appropriate intervention, referral, or reporting actions
Interpret educational polls, programs, and procedures for parents
Communicate effectively, orally, and in writing, with other other professionals, students, parents, and community
Work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, community agencies and staff
Demonstrate professional growth and continuous improvement of professional knowledge and skills
Comply with polls, procedures and programs
Support school improvement initiatives, services and programs
Manage materials and equipment effectively
Prepare all required reports and maintain accurate and complete records in accordance with District procedures
Maintain confidentiality of student and other professional information
Perform other duties as assigned

Expected Salary:
Commensurate with education & experience.
Minimum Requirements:
A Master’s degree; candidates with Bachelor’s degree will be considered, but will be required to obtain a Master’s degree within three years of hire.
Certified as School Psychologist by the state of Florida or licensed in Clinical Psychology
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and effective strategies for motivating and teaching students with differing abilities from a variety of backgrounds
FDLE Background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred qualifications – 3+ years of K-12 School Psychology experience
