First State Bank Deposit Operations Lead in Gainesville, Texas

Summary:

Deposit Operations provides a wide range of support to the many other First State Bank departments. This position is responsible for direct supervising of the Deposit Operations department, including but not limited to time management, scheduling, employee coaching & 3rd party provide interaction. In addition to these responsibilities, they will monitor and process transactional items and perform maintenance related to the Deposit Operations of First State Bank, in addition to providing support & guidance to the Deposit Operations team. They will work closely with the VP of Deposit Operations to ensure the department is running smoothly & efficiently.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directly oversee Deposit Operations staff

  • Schedule & time off review

  • Employee coaching & evaluation

  • Responsible for processing all non-posted transactions, stop payments, or NSF items. Process ACH items, chargebacks and incoming return items on a daily basis.

  • Responsible for processing daily reports and balancing internal accounts.

  • Responsible for daily reconcilement of CDs & SDB

  • Customer Profile, Account, Bounce, Automatic Funds Transfers and Sweep maintenance.

  • Responsible for levy, garnishment & freeze placement.

  • Responsible for placing & managing IntraFi product orders.

    Other Job Duties

  • Maintain detailed records on all work performed;

  • Maintain the confidentiality of customers;

  • Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory requirements and training;

  • Responsible for working Synapsys events & other emailed requests;

  • Monthly IOLTA processing

  • Annual IRA calculations & reporting

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous bank experience is preferred, or 3-5 years related experience or equivalent

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Customer and Personal Service -- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

  • English Language -- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  • Mathematics -- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.

  • Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members;

  • Ability to perform tasks quickly and accurately;

  • A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of a Deposit Operations Specialist;

  • Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals;

  • Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks;

  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form; and

  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
