We are looking for a Manufacturing Support Technician to join our expanding team in Mervue, Galway! The successful candidate will perform troubleshooting and repair Production Machinery and carry out preventative maintenance as required.

As our Manufacturing Support Technician, you’ll support HID’s success by:

  • Providing comprehensive 1st line technical service solutions and product support to internal and external customers

  • Interfacing with other departments in the resolution of technical problems

  • Evaluating new products to understand functions and features, and to assist employees with product information

  • Providing feedback to engineering, production and product management regarding product problems, enhancements, customer requirements

  • Writing Shift Reports

  • Changing over machines to different product families

  • Carrying out First Article Inspection and sending the reports

  • Attending Tier 1 Production Meetings

  • Carrying out Preventive Maintenance on production machines

  • Assisting in continuous improvement of products and procedures

  • Troubleshooting, optimizing and resolving equipment related problems

  • Completing and retaining technical documentation

  • Adhering to company policies and procedures

  • Adhering to all safety procedures at all times

  • Complying with all environmental health and safety procedures

  • Attending training sessions when required

    What we will love about your background:

  • Must be able to communicate in the English language

  • Must be able to read and interpret work orders, manuals, specifications, and similar documents

  • Must have basic mathematical skills

  • Must have strong troubleshooting skills and finding the root cause (with example and proof preferably)

  • Must have the ability to use personal computer to enter and retrieve data, generate reports, print and etc.

  • Minimum requirements for Excel and Word.

    Your Experience and Education include:

  • Must have an Associate Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must have a minimum of 1-2 years Technician experience
