Our Purpose

At our CRM R&D department in Medtronic, plc, we focus on developing innovative products for the Cardiac Pacing Therapies and Defibrillation Solutions portfolios. Our products improve patients’ lives and in this exciting PMO role, you will work with cross functional new product development (NPD) and released product engineering (RPE) teams to plan and execute engineering projects to commercialise new technologies and sustain existing technologies for CRM systems. With a particular focus on catheters for delivering pacemakers and pacemaker leads to our patients, you will interface closely with global teams and engineering sites to execute the strategic and tactical development activities at the Galway site.

This role is a hybrid role, expected to be on site 3-4 days per week.

A Day in The Life Of:

The Senior PD Program Manager will have the opportunity to inspire highly skilled diverse teams, passionate for success and driven in the pursuit of our mission, to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. Some of the aspects you can look forward to are as follows.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to define, plan and execute the Galway scope of work for multiple global NPE and RPE programs.

  • Develop project portfolio management strategy and tools for CRM Galway.

  • Review status of projects and budgets, define and manage schedules and manage outward communication.

  • Monitor the portfolio of projects from initiation through completion.

  • Conduct thorough analysis of program performance metrics, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights.

  • Solve issues through information exchange, influence, and involved persuasion without direct exercise of command to gain cooperation of other parties on program execution plans.

  • Serving as a subject matter expert on program management best practices, manage, motivate, and develop team members to complete an assigned major program or project.

  • Proactively identifying risks, issues, and dependencies and developing mitigation strategies.

  • Resolve issues and ensure task completion by establishing priorities and reaching compromise with team members and functional managers.

  • Ensure that programs are managed on schedule and within budget.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program management team.

  • Effectively represent Medtronic Vascular externally with our customers.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified to degree level 8 in Engineering or related discipline with minimum 10 years relevant experience or advanced degree with minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

  • Strong proven track record in program management in a regulated environment.

  • Design Control; ISO 13485 expertise

  • PMP, Agile and/or master's in project management is desirable.

  • Dynamic team member and leader who can work effectively and proactively on cross functional, global teams.

  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation & leadership skills.

  • Experienced with MS project, MS Office and other project management tools.
