Principal Electronics Engineer
**Overview: We are seeking a talented Principal Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing electronic systems and components.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB DUTIES:
- Lead the development of Assured Positioning Navigation and Timing (APNT) systems.
- Develop product requirements and architectures for new APNT systems.
- Present product design solutions to customers at technical design reviews.
- Electrical design of FPGA, board and system-level hardware. Support PWB layout activities.
- Create system, sub-system, interface and protocol specifications from external and internal requirements.
- Support the creation of production and engineering test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
- Supervise product integration, verification and validation testing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The applicant MUST have the following qualifications:
- BSEE with 10 or more years of experience in the design and development of electronic systems.
- Experience in the design and development of precise time and frequency reference systems
- Design experience using atomic clocks, quartz clocks (TCXO), and oven-controlled crystal oscillators (OCXO)
- Knowledge of oscillator disciplining techniques, as well as precision and holdover timing algorithms.
- Knowledge of GNSS and military GPS navigation systems including system design and development experience using embedded GPS/GNSS receivers.
- Experience leading engineering development teams.
- Strong understanding of digital design principles with experience in the design of embedded microprocessor systems .
- Systems engineering experience working with internal and external customers to develop hardware and software requirements and solutions for new products.
- FPGA design experience using a hardware description language (VHDL).
- RF, low noise and electronic filter design experience.
- Schematic capture experience using Altium and/or PADS Logic.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
Additional Desirable Experience:
Network design experience including Ethernet and Precision Time Protocol (PTP).
Development of time code electronics (AC/ DC IRIG, BCD, HaveQuick, NTP and IEEE 1588 PTP Time Protocols).
Disciplining algorithm and Kalman Filter design experience.
Experience performing digital circuit signal integrity analysis.
