We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Billing Specialist in Garfield Heights, Ohio. In this role, you will be actively involved in the healthcare industry, managing various billing tasks and maintaining precise customer records. The position requires on-site attendance, with the potential for a hybrid schedule in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process accounts receivable and monthly invoices.

• Post payments and investigate any discrepancies.

• Provide assistance with month-end billing and data entry tasks related to commercial insurance.

• Ensure compliance with established policies and regulatory standards.

• Demonstrate problem-solving skills by defining issues, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

• Communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

• Utilize computer and software programs for documentation, billing, and reporting purposes.

• Follow safety protocols while performing tasks.

• Travel to various locations as needed for work purposes.

• Perform other duties as assigned, providing backup and support to the Finance department.

Requirements • Proficiency in Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), EHR SYSTEM, and Epaces.

• Extensive experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, Benefit Functions, Billing Functions, and Claim Administration.

• In-depth knowledge of Medical Billing procedures and regulations.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.

• Proven problem-solving abilities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in medical billing.

• Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance practices.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Knowledge of healthcare billing guidelines and procedures.

• Proven ability to meet and exceed productivity and quality standards.

• Ability to adapt to new processes, procedures, and changes in the work environment.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and analyze data.
