Description

As the Test Engineering Manager you will have the opportunity to be responsible for the operations and management of the Apple Data Center Test and Engineering site to provide stable and cost effective analysis and training environment for Apple’s internal and external “High-demand” services. You will be required to set and maintain an environment of high operational rigor throughout all teams at the site, lead high priority problems, handle critical issues and maintain timely and accurate communication to executive management. You will also reassure and support effective collaboration, communication and partnership within the site’s operations and with other DC sites. In this role you will work closely with other Apple Datacenter Site Manager’s, Apple’s Business units to include hardware and software development, as well as Apple Datacenter Engineering teams on the advancement and effective deployment of standard procedures and practices across all sites as well as driving a culture of continual improvement throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior management experience in mission critical operations environment or similar

  • Data Center leadership experience or managerial role

  • Ability to prepare and lead annual expense budgets

  • Experience managing employees, and or a contingent workforce

  • Ability to work extended hours within a data center environment and typically within a heat range of 60 degrees Fahrenheit upwards of 110 degrees Fahrenheit while following OSHA driven work rest cycles.

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years running mission critical operations in a Data Center environment to include construction activities with a record of dynamically growing responsibilities

  • Ability to prepare and lead annual expense budgets in excess of $30 + million with a validated understanding of and experience with IT procurement practices and contract negotiations

  • Capital expenditure, operational expense, and site headcount planning, forecasting, management and control

  • Highly computer literate with proficiency with Mac OS applications such Pages, Numbers, and Keynote

  • Demonstrable experience in Problem Management, Configuration Management, Root Cause Analysis, and Test and Verification of IT Systems

  • Experience in serving as a communications lead for Data Center Operations, engineering review of failed components, as well as communication of operational key performance indicators

  • Ability to manage the technologies and technical personnel required to develop, lead and maintain mission critical infrastructure and processes to include evaluating new equipment and solving issues with existing equipment
