Summary
Supervise all aspects of Bridge and Structures related work in Northern Indiana. Responsible for scheduling resources, monitoring job costs, hiring trade positions within the group, resolving all field issues and meeting project schedules.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
Establish work plans and schedules for all assigned Structures projects in the area.
Work closely with other Superintendents and owner representatives to coordinate job schedules, changes and any construction issues that arise
Work closely with other Superintendents to ensure all work complies with drawings and specifications
Assist in reviewing project bids once a month
Assist Project Manager in developing change orders
Assist Project Manager with production of pay estimates
Resolve all field construction issues
Review, evaluate and correct any daily cost, time sheet, truck, and equipment usage issues
Team with Area Manager, Structures Manager, and General Superintendents in maintaining communication with unions and resolving jurisdictional disputes.
Monitor employee compliance with safety program requirements and other company policies
Create teamwork and communication between all disciplines of work in the area
Qualifications
Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience of management in bridge construction
Complete understanding of all field operations and construction methods for those operations
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Must have good organization skills
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Problem solving skills with attention to detail
Self-motivated; ability to work independently
Good written and verbal communication skills
