Team Leader – Edinburgh airport

Job Type: Permanent

Hours per week : 37.5

Salary : £27,982.50 per annum plus £150 per month Travel allowance

Working Pattern s: Between 4.00am and 11pm

You will be at the heart of a bustling airport environment where thousands of customers are taking trips for business or personal, whether it is an “early bird” flight or “taking a red eye” we want to ensure that their travel money needs are fulfilled!

As a Team Leader you will lead by example, managing, motivating and developing a team to achieve the best possible results to deliver a great customer experience; creating an inclusive workplace environment where all employees are valued.

What will you be doing?

  • Building strong relationships with the surrounding business & creating a positive working environment for Travelex staff

  • Driving performance and improvement along with general management duties & responsibilities

  • Monitoring and implementing best practice around legal and regulatory standards and adhering to Travelex compliance procedures

  • Positive people management, which will include rostering, coaching and supporting your team through regular performance review

  • Being ready to ‘roll up your sleeves’ providing support when required with processing foreign exchange transactions accurately and efficiently

  • Being able to adapt to working under pressure due to seasonal periods

  • Effectively communicating with both customers and colleagues

What do I need to have?

  • Formal HR process experience- You’ll need to have experience in Return to works, investigations, disciplinary and performance management.

  • Great communicator – You’ll find talking with people and building relationships comes naturally to you. You’ll not only be a great talker, but a good listener who is understanding of people and their needs.

  • Desire to succeed – You’ll have the drive and vision to want to make a difference, to enjoy what you do, care about the impact you have and the way you make people feel.

  • Sales Experience – Be able to drive your team to success by using KPIs and effective Coaching and Development

What does the interview process look like?

• Step 1 – Our team of Talent Acquisition Partners or Bureau Managers will review your application and get in touch with you if they think your experience fits the brief and conduct an initial screening call.

• Step 2 – You’ll then be invited to an online interview with one of our Talent Acquisition Partners. Here we’ll give you more insight into Travelex and the role whilst finding out a bit more about you. Given you’d be working with vast amounts of money on a regular basis there will also be a small numerical and accuracy test that you’ll need to complete.

• Step 3 – If successful you will then be invited to visit the bureau where you will meet with the Bureau Manager face-to-face and have the opportunity to see what the working environment looks like. The Bureau Manager will be able to tell you more about the day-to-day responsibilities and answer any remaining questions you have.

• Step 4 – If the bureau visit goes well, we’ll reach out and offer the opportunity to join Travelex as our newest employee. If you’re unsuccessful, we’ll still reach out to you to provide detailed feedback. We owe you that much as a candidate who has dedicated your time to meet with us.
