We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Maintenance Manger within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Geismar, Louisiana.  

Essential Job Duties:

  • Develop, manage, and participate in programs, methods, systems and practices for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Maintain and develop the required human resources capability and organizational structure for achieving the required Geismar maintenance programs.
  • Assure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and operating permits.
  • Direct the Maintenance organization in a manner that utilizes the quality process of continuous improvement to reduce costs, improve productivity, increase reliability, and enhance safety and environmental performance.
  • Direct the Maintenance organization in practices, standards, specifications, and policies that comply with the process safety code of Responsible Care and Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Control maintenance expenditures within budget requirements by monitoring expenditures, adjusting priorities, and forecasting future maintenance expenditures.
  • Assure permanent and intermittent contractors meet or exceed the requirements of the plant specific safety guidelines for contractors.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable site policies related to human resources, safety and environmental compliance, diversity, and quality.
  • Develop effective liaisons with division and corporate staff to enhance planning for efficient use of property and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in areas of specialization: develop new skills, develop overall technical competence, and participate in programs to improve professional development.
  • Actively participate in the management of and ensure that the Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity programs, systems and activities are properly supported, monitored and measured.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in engineering with a minimum of 10-15 yrs experience in maintenance and engineering supervision.  
  • Ability to Review, approve, and prioritize maintenance support activities and assign maintenance personnel as required.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis.
  • Physical requirements – Must be able to lift 40 lbs, climb ladders and stairs. Walking, bending, stooping is required. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including the use of a respirator. Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms. 

       

Additional Desired Qualifications

  • Good working knowledge of SAP
