Experience
Minimum – Previous hospital housekeeping experience
Preferred - Prior experience refinishing and burnishing hard surface floors and utilizing related housekeeping equipment.
Education
Minimum: High School Education or GED Equivalent
Responsibility Summary
Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, performs project and general cleaning of entryways, corridors, stairwells, public areas, and of all other patient/resident and non-patient/non-resident areas when assigned. Transports trash, linens and supplies to and from assigned areas if required. Observes professional standards, follows department and organizational procedures, and observes safety precautions at all times. Must be 18 years old to operate floor machines and carpet equipment.
Essential Functions
Complies with established policies and procedures regarding Infection Prevention, Hazardous Materials and Waste, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
Utilizing professional department procedures, cleans, refinishes and burnishes hard surface floors, cleans and extracts carpeting and floor mats, and washes walls in assigned areas within the time frame allotted. Moves furniture and assists in special set-ups on a non-routine basis.
Cleans and sanitizes patient/resident rooms and other departmental areas if needed.
Keeps supervisor or team leader informed of any issues that hinder timely completion of assigned tasks. Assists in maintaining housekeeping storage area in a clean and organized manner.
Utilizes equipment and cleaning products as instructed, leaving equipment clean and battery equipment in proper mode while charging.
Performs basic operational maintenance of equipment. Reports equipment in need of repair to supervisor promptly.
Completes required training and in-services to meet employee development needs. Able to demonstrate proficiency in all tasks assigned.
Salary Range: $16.96-$18.02
