Manages and supervises the operations of the Rolling Mill for the Long Products Division; Supervises Rolling Mill employees, communicates company rules and practices, requires subordinates conformance and application to established company rules and practices in regard to attendance, performance, training, safety; Manages costs for Rolling Mill; Coordinates and implements quality control objectives; Trains employees to optimize daily person to machine interface; Enforces safety, quality, and productivity requirements; Collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, and Technical personnel to schedule, process, expedite, and transfer in-process material in the most efficient way; Recommend methods of improving utilization of personnel and materials; Monitor flow of material through bar area to eliminate delays on equipment; Coordinates with Maintenance personnel on planned outages, preventative maintenance, and special installation/upgrade projects to minimize delays in production; Eliminate bottlenecks and improve quality of product as it relates to the maintenance of equipment; Interacts with Technical department to ensure proper standards and procedures are followed throughout all units to obtain the proper metallurgical properties and quality steel in process; Ensures employee conformance to safety standards; Conduct safety meetings, accident/incident investigations and makes recommendations to upper management to eliminate future safety problems; Investigates employee complaints; Maintains appropriate inventory levels for all units supporting consumables to insure uninterrupted operations; and Participates in the purchasing of consumables, including vendor selection, bidding, and ordering parameters. A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is required. One year of experience as an Operations Engineer is required. Proficiency in reviewing inspection practices of stainless steel inspectors as shown by one year of experience in this area.
