TransCore, LP Lead Toll Collector - LEADT001594 in Gig Harbor, Washington

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full time Lead Toll Collector to join our team in Gig Harbor, Washington. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Toll Operations Manager, the Lead Toll Collector is responsible for collecting tolls and operating a manual lane per standard operating procedures with a customer focused approach. They are accountable for the recording, reporting and depositing of toll revenue, the management of assigned change funds and security of all funds under his/her control. The Lead Toll Collector will be expected to meet or exceed performance goals. The Lead Toll Collector may at times be assigned to perform the Toll Supervisor's job duties as needed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages the traffic in lane by classifying each vehicle accurately and collecting the correct toll.
  • Provides correct change to cash customers.
  • Contacts the Toll Supervisor when customers won't cooperate with payment policies.
  • Contacts the Toll Supervisor when customers or their passengers act suspiciously, or their vehicles arouse suspicion.
  • Performs a deposit at the end of each shift and submits all required manual logs with the physical deposit.
  • Maintains his/her change fund per Toll Operations procedures.

When applicable the following duties will also be required:

  • Issues change funds.
  • Checks-in and verifies end-of-tour deposits.
  • Monitors both Open Road Tolling (ORT) and manual toll lanes.
  • Adjusts booth operations for peak efficiency while working a Toll Supervisor's shift only.
  • Resolves unexpected traffic events.
  • Addresses toll lane customer issues and notifies the Toll Operations Manager by email.
  • Responds to toll collector injuries.
  • Provides the Toll Operations Manager with required reports as needed.
  • Assigns collectors to lanes and coordinates shift breaks on a daily/shift basis only.
  • Ensures that daily cash handling and deposit procedures are followed by each toll collector.
  • Perform toll collector duties to open a cash lane as required.

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Salary Range: Up to $23.07/Hour; based upon experience. Required Skills & Experience:

  • Basic skill in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Team player, strong organizational skills, proactive and conscientious
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in cash handling and cash close out / reconciliation procedures
  • Knowledge and experience in traffic safety
  • Expected to assume position and/or variable shift hours & days off as needed, as well as be assigned to work special events and holidays.
