About You

Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Parkway Improvement District (PKID) Specialist – 20 hours per week.

This Parkway Improvement District (PKID) Specialist position reports to the Parks & Recreation Business Manager. The position will provide customer service which will include fielding questions and resolving conflicts with internal and external customers by answering customer inquiries by phone, via email and in person. The position will actively participate and accomplish organizational, departmental and workgroup goals and objectives. It will identify, respond to, and resolve complex issues and concerns from property owners related to policies, procedures or safety issues. The position needs to exhibit a service orientation toward internal and external customers and maintain productive working relationships. It will also oversee and maintain database management systems, files, reports, records according to established guidelines. Also, the position will craft written communication such as letters, ballots, minutes, agendas, assessment summaries, project descriptions and website postings. Finally, it will be responsible for managing all facets of the Parkway Improvement Districts (PKID) including year-round timely customer service to Gilbert PKID residents including hosting and facilitating annual property owner meetings, special workshops and focus groups.

  • Associate's degree in administration, parks, recreation, project management or a related field or equivalent experience in recreation.

  • Two years of experience in public outreach and conducting meetings.

  • Two years of public sector experience.

  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.

  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License

Preferred knowledge and skills include:

  • Two year of budgeting experience is desired.

  • Knowledge of contract employee management as well as supervisory principles, practices, and techniques.

  • Skill in Microsoft Office.

  • Skill in management and conflict resolution and emergency response.

  • Skill in customer service, communication and interpersonal skills

This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.
