Adecco US, Inc. Land Surveyors in Gillette, Wyoming
Adecco has partnered with a cutting-edge land surveying and mapping solutions company with over 30 years of expertise and a database of more than 4,000 pre-surveyed sections.
Their services cover the entire data collection process—from initial proposal to post-construction. Utilizing the latest surveying technologies and UAS (drones), their amazing experienced team ensures comprehensive support throughout your project.
Job Description (aka "How to Get Paid to Play with GPS and Drones")
Welcome to your future role as a Surveying Sidekick, where you’ll be under the watchful eye of a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS)—because let’s face it, navigating through oil wells, pipelines, and compressor sites is a lot more fun when someone with a fancy title is guiding you. Your duties? Simple. You’ll be staking out oil and gas wells, engineered pads, roads, pipelines, powerlines, and the occasional well facility, while pretending you're plotting treasure maps in the middle of nowhere.
Your Day-to-Day Adventure Includes:
Wandering around vast expanses of land with GPS equipment like you’re on a high-tech scavenger hunt.
Using a total station (it’s not a spaceship, but it’s close) to collect data for engineering design—because maps don’t make themselves.
Downloading data into Trimble Navigation software (hopefully, you like tech) and transferring it into AutoCAD Civil 3D 2020 (or whatever version they throw at you).
Maybe, just maybe, you’ll get to play with a drone. Cue excitement. There's even talk of you getting certified in it. So if you’ve ever wanted to be the proud owner of an FAA Part 107 certificate, now's your chance.
Skills You Should Have:
Computer skills? Yes, you’ll need them. Being a wizard with AutoCAD is a must. Trimble Business Center and GPS equipment knowledge? Bonus points! You don’t need to be a drone piloting expert—yet—but you should at least be open to it.
Bonus: An LSIT certificate? If you've got one, great. If not, don’t stress—it’s like the cherry on top of your surveying sundae.
Requirements:
Minimum Age: 18. If you're younger than that, we’re afraid you're not old enough to operate fancy GPS equipment just yet.
Experience: You should have about 48 months of field experience. If you’ve been lost in the wilderness for that long... well, we’ll take that into consideration.
Education: Two years of college or some sort of technical schooling, because you can’t just “wing it” with surveying equipment.
License: You’ll need a driver’s license. But no, you don’t need a pilot’s license for the drone… yet.
Perks?
This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity with benefits available through Adecco after 30 days. Once you transition to a permanent position after 90 days, here's what you can look forward to:
Health insurance, dental, life insurance. Because, you know, you’re going to be doing dangerous things like... standing next to powerlines.
Vacation, sick leave, 401(k). You’ll have plenty of time to recover from that rough day of staking boundaries and aligning well pads.
So, if you’re ready to spend your days walking through the wilderness like a modern-day explorer, wielding GPS tech like a pro, and maybe even flying drones on the side—this job might be your perfect match. Go ahead, throw your hat in the ring!
