Siemens Mobility have an exciting opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join our Rail Infrastructure Control Systems team based in Glasgow. In this role you will work on railway signalling projects throughout the full project life cycle, working in partnership with the multi-skilled, multi-disciplinary team. This is from the early stages of bids and tenders, specification, system design, through validation, testing, approvals and installation, to ongoing customer support.

You will make an impact by:

  • work through the implementation of projects to deliver a technical solution which meets the customers’ needs and complies with industry specifications.

  • Carry out design and production checks on signalling control systems as instructed by senior engineers.

  • Preparation of technical details, specifications and tenders for Control Systems projects.

  • Ensure technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of Control Systems work.

  • Discharge safety responsibilities in relation to CDM Regulations, Health and Safety legislation, company procedures and standards.

  • Assist with testing and commissioning of signalling control systems as instructed.

You will win us over by:

  • Good level of CAD skills and use of appropriate software packages. MicroStation is desirable.

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or other relevant subject area.

  • Undertaken and passed a relevant apprenticeship programme.

  • Hold or be working towards IRSE Designer license.

  • Experience in Railway Signalling Systems including VDU Control Centres, TD’s and TDM.

  • Hold or be working towards Mod 5 (or Systems Test) Testing Qualification

  • Membership of the IEE or IRSE or recognized professional body.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Understanding of task, time, and people management skills.
