Aggreko Finance Manager - Head Office in Glasgow, United Kingdom

The purpose of the role:

We are currently looking for a Head Office Accountant to join our Finance Division within the head office in Glasgow. This role will be responsible for delivering world class financial control and reporting for Aggreko’s head office.

The role requires someone with strong technical accounting and communication skills, an ability to work with large amounts of data, a first class attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business partner for the department heads (e.g. HR, Finance, Treasury) within the Aggreko head office

  • Work closely with the head office Treasury function to manage the intercompany process for the head office companies. This involves working with a lot of transactional data (e.g. journal processing, manual revaluations etc.) and communicating with the local finance teams throughout the Group

  • For head office companies -

  • Maintain financial records including monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Submit management accounts.

  • Prepare and file 20 sets of statutory accounts for the holding companies including completing detailed tax packs for the tax filing submissions for these companies

  • Prepare annual budgets.

  • Monitor performance against forecast/budget and ensure each budget holder has sufficient. information each month to monitor their own performance against forecast/budget.

  • Compile VAT returns.

  • Provide information for National statistic forms.

  • On going liaison with the tax manager in relation to head office tax and VAT.

  • Main contact for external audit for head office companies.

  • Responsible for head office payments procedure and petty cash.

  • Responsible for managing 2 director reports: Finance Analysts and Finance Assistant (Responsible for the head office payments)

What we’re looking for:

  • Ideally looking for a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).

  • Strong technical and analytical skills.

  • Experience of working with ERP systems.

  • Experience of intercompany accounting or treasury.

  • Experience of preparing and maintaining statutory accounts.
