Exciting Opportunity for a Research & Development Project Manager

We are searching for a Project Manager to join our busy team based in Renfrew.

As the R&D Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing projects aimed at developing new products, technologies, or processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and a passion for innovation.

This is a permanent position working 37 hours per week. We offer hybrid working for this role which will allow you to enjoy the balance of home working and collaboration time with the team in our modern, friendly offices which include free onsite parking.

What Needs To Be Done?

  • Lead and manage research and development projects from inception through to commercialisation.

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and track progress against key milestones and performance metrics.

  • Co-ordinate and prioritise resource requirements, issues and risks to ensure the successful delivery of the project.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including operations, engineering, applications, supply chain, quality, sales and marketing.

  • Communicate a project’s technical and commercial requirements to all departments contributing to the project’s successful execution.

  • Conduct regular project meetings, status updates, and reviews to monitor progress, address challenges, and drive decision-making.

  • Periodically report on project progress.

To be successful you must have …

  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.

  • The ability to manage complex technical projects which involve highly technical work packages and the delivery of physical prototypes and testing facilities.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders across functional areas and organizational levels

It’s a bonus if you have (but not essential)…

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials preferred.

  • A degree in STEM discipline or suitable experience in a technical environment.

  • An interest in supporting the global transition to clean technologies, supporting projects from our oil & gas markets through to cold chain, energy recovery and scientific research applications.

  • Experience working in lean and continuous improvement environment and of using associated operational excellence and growth tools and processes.
