We’re expanding our factory network and introducing a new manufacturing facility designed with the climate in mind. Our Glendale, Arizona production factory is a brand new, state-of-the-art facility and distribution center with cutting-edge technology and advanced systems designed with sustainability at the forefront. Innovative water recycling processes, zero waste to landfill, and fully recyclable product packaging made from food-safe materials are just some of the programs we’ve implemented to support Nestlé’s ambition for zero environmental impact by 2030.

The Senior Community and Engagement Coordinator will support the communication strategy for the Glendale, AZ location. This position will report to the Sr. Factory Manager and work closely with the HR Department and the Nestlé USA corporate communications team. The Senior Community and Engagement Coordinator will be based onsite five days a week in Glendale, AZ.

The core responsibilities of this role encompass four areas: community engagement, employee (internal) communications, external communications, and site leadership team support. The priorities within each area include:

Community Engagement:

  • Guide strategies for monetary and product donations in the local community.

  • Manage employee volunteerism and participation in key local community events.

  • Support local-level activations for key company initiatives.

  • Foster engagement with local technical and trade schools and community colleges to promote Nestle as an employer of choice.

  • Contribute to the site newsletter by providing updates and information on local operations and the workforce, highlighting key programs and initiatives.

  • Serve on the Community Relations Committee.

Employee Communications:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the local communications strategy, including creating written, video, and visual content for the site, such as the local newsletter and change management communications.

  • Drive improvements and changes based on site communications surveys and feedback.

  • Help uphold our high employee engagement standards, including but not limited to:

  • Help guide strategy of engaging employees and planning for site celebrations.

  • Initiate event planning for employee experience celebrations.

  • Support interior and exterior graphics installations.

  • Coordinate promotional items for employee experience events.

  • Work with HR to promote recognition programs.

  • Assist in preparing for internal stakeholder visits.

  • Serve on the Employee Engagement Committee.

  • Identify compelling storytelling opportunities to showcase our people, processes, and passion.

  • Implement the internal communications channel strategy at the site using priority tools and apps.

External Communications:

  • Develop strategy, in partnership with the corporate communications team, to drive manufacturing thought leadership stories focused on key themes including:

  • Manufacturing Month (October)

  • Women in Manufacturing

  • Advanced technology and innovation

  • Sustainability in operations

  • Industry leadership

  • Work with the corporate communications team to showcase the impact of local manufacturing on Nestle’s trusted brands and foster civic pride.

  • Partner with the corporate communications team on local activations related to startup celebrations, site expansion announcements, and other significant milestones as needed.

Site Leadership Team Support:

  • Provide support to the Site Leadership Team for major events and routine tasks related to visitor management.

  • Coordinate catering, book event spaces, and manage site calendar appointments.

  • Assist in the management of non-operational spaces, including employee cafeterias, employee stores, and the front office.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related area preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in communications, marketing, or a relevant function.

  • Ability to write concise and compelling stories for various audiences.

  • Experience in a technical, distribution center, or manufacturing industry is preferred.

  • Experience with employee communications is a plus.
