Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The day-to-day responsibilities for this maintenance position will focus on machine installations, setup of highly automated equipment including controls, automation, and electrical systems. Once installations are complete, you will support and provide ongoing preventive, planned, and unplanned maintenance on production equipment associated with your assigned areas in the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee new equipment installation, setup, modification, and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to OEM specifications.

  • Perform troubleshooting and investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations, bring production back online, and make recommendations to prevent re-occurrences.

  • Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace equipment parts, maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, calibration of equipment and systems including repair, rework to meet and maintain specifications and tolerances.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in Industrial Maintenance with emphasis on electrical controls

  • Intermediate knowledge of PLC programming, robotics, and vision controls

  • Intermediate knowledge of Electrical Theory for AC/DC circuits, Motor Controls (VFD, Servo)

  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical maintenance, pneumatics, and hydraulics

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders

  • Ability to connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replace switches and fuses, and splice wires, replace or repair belts, chains, or cables on machinery

  • Ability to align, fit, and assemble component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates with the potential to operate metalworking machines to fabricate housings, jigs, fittings, and fixtures

  • HS Diploma or GED AND Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Journeyman Card, or Associates Degree in a related field

  • Must have an Industrial Maintenance Certificate, Journeyman Card, Associates Degree in a related field, and a minimum of 4 years of Industrial Maintenance experience (preferred automotive, chemical, food, etc.)

  • Candidates need at least 7 years or more of Industrial Maintenance experience (preferred automotive, chemical, food, etc.) to be considered without a certificate or degree

Work Environment

This is a massive battery manufacturing facility hiring individuals onto its maintenance team. The environment is clean, climate-controlled, and involves new construction from the ground up. The plant is scheduled to be fully operational in January 2025, running 24x7 with a 3-2-2 pattern of 12-hour shifts with a 45-minute unpaid lunch. There will be both day and night shifts. Until late spring of 2024, the work schedule will be a standard 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM schedule, Monday – Friday. Once the plant is functioning, the maintenance teams will transition to the 3-2-2 pattern on day-shift without requiring shift rotations for hourly employees.
