Description
Robert Half is looking for a Project professional for an interim opportunity as a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will oversee all financial aspects essential for the growth-oriented service provider and utility construction services firm to evolve into a high-performing platform for scale. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and reporting the CEO, this individual will strategically manage finance and accounting operations within the enterprise.
The CFO will strategically balance responsibilities such as financial analysis, forecasting, reporting, profit and loss management, M& A due diligence, and integration, while establishing and managing fundamental GAAP accounting principles, systems, and controls. Key objectives include:
Seamless integration of new organizations to ensure consistency and operational excellence at scale
Effective management of talent acquisition, retention, and attrition at all organizational levels
Cultivation of a proactive, performance-based, fully accountable environment to achieve predetermined outcomes
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and direction to Accounting and Finance functions, offering recommendations based on analysis and projections
Collaborate with CEO and other department heads to make informed decisions regarding capital deployment and operating margins
Distill and interpret financial information to identify trends and provide insights for the CEO and future board
Lead Billing, Accounting, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable departments
Partner with CEO to develop and implement short and long-range financial objectives, plans, budgets, and forecasts
Continuously evaluate the organization's financial position and provide forward-thinking scenario analysis
Manage risk and ensure financial process integrity
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in financial structure and processes
Prepare and issue timely and accurate financial statements and related filings
Establish and maintain strong relationships with external service providers
Corporate Development:
Lead corporate development activities, including identifying investment opportunities and driving investment assessment and due diligence processes
Prepare business plans for new initiatives and monitor their progress
Participate in the preparation and management of strategic plans
Develop, evaluate, and analyze the financial impact of transactions, including financing strategies, acquisitions, and joint ventures
Coordinate internal and external resources for M& A transactions
Leadership:
Elevate the talent of the finance team through improved processes, tools, training, and accountability
Motivate team members toward actionable tasks
Collaborate with Executive Team to establish performance objectives
Thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
Deliver clear, impassioned visions to motivate employees
Requirements - CPA designation or MBA highly preferred
Superb interpersonal, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving and multi-tasking skills
Must be able to interact clearly and effectively in a fast-changing environment with excellent written and verbal skills
A minimum of 10 years' experience in a senior accounting/finance position
Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specialization in Finance or Accounting
Proficiency in accounting software and other computer software
