Glens Falls Hospital is looking for LPN's that are dedicated to patient care, bed side passion and helping patients in a very good established and well-known organization. Someone that is detail oriented Licensed Practical Nurses and Surgical Technologists like you to join our Operating Room team! Surgery and OR experience, knowledge, and even a new grad in the area or exploring the area is someone they would consider! The opportunity will allow a candidate to build on their skills while working closely with surgeons, other RN's, and other professionals on our OR team. The Surgical Technologist role is essential for ensuring a sterile and efficient environment and procedure
Background on the LPN role for Surg / OR:
Assist nursing staff with patient care in the surgical suite
Manages equipment and supplies in preparation and during surgical procedures
Assist in opening the sterile supplies in preparation for the surgical case
Assist in assuring that surgeon preferences are accessible and current; assist the RN in selecting equipment and supplies
Assure all equipment is functioning before use, removing any malfunctioning equipment from OR per hospital policy
Assist in assuring that emergency equipment and supplies are available at all times
Handle and count sponges, sharps and instruments
Handle and store sterile/unsterile supplies using established principles of aseptic technique
