Unilever Finance Controller Director - H/F in Rueil Malmaison,
Your expectations regarding the role
Director role in one of the largest Unilever units in the world (top 10 country)
Need experience in controlling, audit internal and external, stakeholder management at all levels (from senior to junior) and ability to inspire the overall finance team.
Strong control framework, ability to deal with 3rd parties including operating centres in Poland, Netherlands, attention to detail, responsiveness.
Overall role purpose
You act with objectivity as the conscience of the business, seeing the bigger picture & holding the mirror up, moving between major control & value-based topics, protecting & liberating value in the MCO.
Keyaccountabilities and deliverables
Risk Management & Controls
• Pro-actively mobilise the MCO risk management agenda, ensuring high quality risk assessments are conducted & risks are appropriately managed
• Understand root causes of issues & poor performance, identify where controls are not operating and drive remediation through relevant business leaders
• Ensure that the Global Financial Controls Framework is embedded & operating in line with the agreed global model
• Oversight over financial controls operated outside of Finance and drive focus on operational controls across
the business
• Maintain & enforce relevant local authority schedules
Accounting
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for both group and local statutory reporting, continuously improve the quality of accounting in the MCO & implement changes in accounting standards, policies & procedures
Financial Process Excellence
• Implement programmes in partnership with global teams to drive world -class financial processes
• Eliminate, simplify, automate and/or centralise transactional activities
• Local leadership for financial aspects of key transformation projects
Expertise Areas and Internal & External Assurance
• Active oversight of relevant local filings, enquiries, issue management & Third Party relationship management where delegated by the relevant Global Expertise team
• Liaison with Corporate Audit & External Audit & driving appropriate follow -up actions
Knowledge and skills
Qualified accountant
Strong understanding of risk and controls
Strong organisational & business awareness
Strong process knowledge; structured and analytical in approach
Excellent engagement, presentation and communication skills
Ability to present complex information in a simplified manner

Good appreciation of project management and change management
Experience
• 10 years experience in finance including senior roles either in accounting (previous chief of accountant), business/management controlling or audit (Big 4)
• Solid experience in SOX, project management, team leadership (including shared services)
• Significant experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non -Finance stakeholders
• Demonstrated competency at growing and developing people
• Significant experience in a business facing Finance role
• Significant experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders (including peers and 3 rd parties) and holding others accountable
• Experience identifying risks and opportunities
