Senior Operations Software Engineer Job Description Tomorrow.io's Space & Sensors team is responsible for the development of unique RF-based sensing systems, such as radar and sonar, from architecture through implementation. The team is also responsible for the development of corresponding spacecraft and constellations in support of Tomorrow.io's Operation Tomorrow Space, which will collect data to be integrated seamlessly into our texisting forecasting and modeling systems, revolutionizing global weather intelligence.

We're looking for a Sr. Operations Software Engineer to help us develop the mission-critical software systems necessary to launch, deploy, and operate a fleet of scientific instruments in space, from Earth. As a Sr. Operations Software Engineer at Tomorrow.io, You'll

Develop the tools mission operators and climate scientists need to achieve mission success Support payload operators and scientists in achieving mission success Contribute to the definition of interfaces between various components (ground system to spacecraft, spacecraft bus to payload, etc.) Work with DevOps and IT teams on topics such as production environment, deployment strategies, and security measures Provide training and documentation for all production software systems What you bring:

6+ years of experience with mission- or safety-critical software systems B.S. in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or related field Experience developing production-quality software Understanding of microservice architectures Exposure to aerospace systems (i.e. satellites, airplanes, rockets) Bonus: Experience operating remote vehicles (i.e. drones or self-driving cars)

Technical Must haves:

Advanced knowledge of Python Intermediate knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes Intermediate knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and/or TSDB Intermediate knowledge of AWS, GCP, AZURE resources Technical Nice to haves:

Beginner knowledge of React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Beginner knowledge of Argo Workflows/Events Bonus: Any knowledge of STK, FreeFlyer, or GMAT Bonus: Any knowledge Raspberry Pi and Arduino Bonus: Any knowledge of MATLAB So if while watching a rocket launch broadcast, you try to catch a glimpse at what all those people on-console are looking at. When you hear "The space telescope is fully deployed", you ask yourself "How did they do that from Earth?". How many people did it take to get to the moon?
