Job Overview

The Global Account Manager has to manage and control all activities into and within a global business for a specific customer. The primary objective is to maximize business opportunities and to ensure that TE Connectivity is in prime position to grow and develop sales profitability.

Responsibilities:

  • Global Account Manager for the Volvo Group Truck and Bus responsible for profitable sales growth, development of new business opportunities and maintaining customer satisfaction.

  • Coordinate and report on local and global Volvo requirements and link in with other Volvo group companies and local TE Sales Representatives as required to support projects and future developments.

  • Through TERP generation and increased content per vehicle grow TE content at Volvo beyond normal build rate levels.

  • Recognised as an expert in Developing and Selling TE products to the Volvo group and other allocated local companies as required.

  • Has a specialist depth of knowledge in TE products and capabilities.

  • Builds a strong network of relationships for all Volvo group companies (exc. VCE handled by another GAM).

  • Responsible for quotations and negotiations of specific projects as well as pricing of existing business with special focus of profitability and contracting with customers.

  • Identify application areas where TE does not have a dominating position and define account coverage and product requirements.

  • Where applicable, lead and guide customer focus teams; especially manage the team of dotted line reports via goal setting and identify needs for support, training and coaching.

  • Communicate results and account activity regularly and comprehensively as requested by the Regional Sales Manager and the Senior Management team.

  • As appropriate, leads functional teams, defining and managing resources as required.

  • Works independently with guidance in only the most complex situations.

  • Regularly reports on significant Truck and Bus market activities generally and at the OEM.

  • Assists in training junior staff and new ICT team members as required.

Requirements:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree or equivalent education

  • 6 to 8 years experience in various Business Administration and Sales assignments

  • At least 4 years of Senior Sales account management experience

  • Good TE product knowledge would be an advantage.

  • Knowledge of trends / competition / technology that will influence products and sales

  • Strong experienced negotiation skills

  • Strong problem solving, strategic and tactical thinking, and analytical skills

  • Fluent in English both written and spoken, Swedish is a plus

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to motivate his/her sales team

  • Culturally sensitive

  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, international matrix organisation

  • The function will report solid line into the Regional Sales Manager ICT EMEA Truck and Bus.

  • As the Volvo GAM have dotted line responsibility for TE representation at the other group companies except VCE handled in another Team.

  • Car driving licence necessary.

  • Position requires flexibility regarding travelling. Some international travel will be required.
