POSITION SUMMARY

Retail Supervisor

The Retail Supervisor is a full time position responsible for the daily operation of the Hotel’s managed Retail stores. Accountable for training and appraising our Ladies and Gentleman’s and ensuring that The Ritz-Carlton standards are being executed in all Retail areas.

Will be responsible to achieve area customer satisfaction, employee engagement, area specific standards and financial goals. This position will also support the monthly inventory process, receiving of shipments, tagging, stocking and setting up attractive displays of merchandise in all outlets.

The Retail Supervisor is an operational position that requires flexible schedule, transporting heavy boxes, must able to be stand up for long period of time, handle cash with accuracy and be able to handle food and beverage following the company’s standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years previous retail experience in a luxury hotel / store

  • Previous supervisory experience in hotel operations would be an asset

  • A college degree is desirable and proven academic achievements

  • Must possess a flair for design, artistic eye and creativity

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • The ability to maintain an electronic retail inventory system with excellent computer skills

  • Strong accounting / financial skills.

  • Ability to motivate a team

  • Detailed Oriented

  • Able to work week days, weekends and holidays

Greet customers when they enter the shop and offer assistance with merchandise. Display merchandise, restock items, and ticket merchandise with price or mark-downs. Follow proper inventory system to conduct and reconcile merchandise inventory. Count and verify merchandise orders upon receipt and document any shortages. Place orders for store merchandise and approve invoices, including communicating with manager/supervisor as needed. Complete customer purchases, process all payment types, and process returns, refunds, and exchanges. Maintain appropriate cash levels in cash drawer, turn in all property monies and receipts, and ensure deposits/cash drops are verified. Follow checklist for opening and closing shop. Secure shop and monitor customer activity to prevent losses due to merchandise theft and damage.

Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees; serve as a role model and first point of contact of the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy process. Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop; stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma G.E.D. equivalent.

Related Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.

Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

License or Certification: None
