Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will be motivated to set-up & run 3 axis Okuma CNC Vertical centers.  Will be responsible for creating, modifying and setting up & running single piece as well as short run production.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate CNC Okuma machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc.
• Design and build proper fixtures for accurate tooling.
• CAD/CAM software knowledge
• Maintain documentation of programming changes and updates per the quality system.
• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
• Test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct functions.
• Machine set up to complete full cycles and fabricate large numbers of parts.
• Supervise the CNC machine while executing tasks and make necessary adjustments.
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare with requirements.
• Daily checks and pre-maintenance procedures.
• Read and understand blueprints, mechanical drawings & basic understanding of GD&T, etc.

• Ensure compliance with safety protocols & maintain a clean working environment

Qualifications

• 2 years'+ experience as a CNC machinist.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining preferred
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, instructions and production lists and wire run lists required; the ability to read schematics a plus.
• Must be able to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in English.

Compensation

The salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, with time and a half for overtime (40+ hours).
