Description

OVERVIEW

The Production Scheduling Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and scheduling of production activities to meet customer demands, optimize resource utilization, and enhance overall efficiency. This role involves collaboration with various departments to ensure a seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement production schedules that align with customer demands, inventory targets, and overall business goals

  • Efficiently allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production schedules and minimize downtime

  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to understand customer requirements, production capacity, and inventory levels

  • Evaluate and analyze production capacity, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvements

  • Manage lead times for production orders, ensuring timely delivery of products to customers while maintaining high-quality standards

  • Communicate production schedules and changes effectively to all relevant stakeholders, including Production Supervisors, Purchasing, and Logistics teams

  • Identify areas for improvement in production scheduling processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

  • Address and resolve conflicts that may arise due to changes in production schedules, resource constraints, or other factors impacting production timelines

  • Utilize data and analytics tools to monitor and analyze production performance, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize scheduling

  • Ensure production schedules comply with relevant regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience as a Production Scheduling Manager or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and capacity planning

  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems and scheduling software

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field

  • Monday – Friday

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.
