Job Title: Construction Assistant Superintendent/Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) Location(s): Grand Junction, CO Status: Full-Time FLSA: Exempt Hiring Range: $67,000 - $85,000/yr. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant's education, training, and experience.)

We are recruiting for a Construction Site Supervisor (CSS) who plans, oversees, and directs construction activities to ensure compliance with the work planning documents.

This position is required to travel or be in the field about 50% of the time.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions: Ensures that work is performed safely. Provides oversight for various construction projects on the Legacy Management Support contract (LMS) including input to the subcontractor requisition package on the project approach, planning documents, duration, and workability, then assists with bid tours and reviews submittals a Provides inspections and reporting, oversee, control, direct, supervise, record, and report on the conduct, quality, progress, and performance of the project while in the field. Directs self-performed construction activities. Ensures adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations. Observes and investigates all construction /demolition phases to ensure compliance with subcontractor schedules, specifications, and shop drawin Identifies actual or potential problems and determines necessity for changes or remedial actions. Accountable for reading plans and specifications to ensure that construction projects are completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Responsible to cultivate a close relationship with multiple customers to understand their needs, respond quickly to their requests, and provide feedback in a timely manner. Responsible to organize own work independently in order to meet established objectives, using discretion in performing duties. Makes recommendations for changes in construction/demolition to meet field conditions. Other duties as assigned.

Work experience, skills, and capabilities needed: In depth experience in reading plans and specifications to ensure that construction projects are completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. Ability to verbally communicate clearly and concisely with subcontractors, support groups and management. Ability to coordinate and balance conflicting priorities. Ability to write clearly and concisely. Ability to complete paperwork as needed and maintain records as required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Project (Schedule) Supervisory experience and familiarity with overseeing subcontractors and craft workers is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience providing construction management services as an owner's representative. Previous experience related to radiological contamination, ecological concerns, safety (OSHA), and regulatory requirement associated with civil construction, building construction, or facility operations projects is d Ability to cultivate a close relationship with multiple customers to understand their needs, respond quickly to their requests, and provide feedback in a timely manner. Previous experience supervising work crews, subcontractors, and heavy equipment operations. Previous experience with horizontal and vertical construction projects. Previous experience with Federal contractors. High degree of skill in reading, understanding, interpreting, and enforcing engineering plans and specifications.

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software roficiency required: Practical knowledge of construction/demolition subcontract language and construction subcontractor billing practices. Strong understanding of the construction and engineering industries and how the two industries interact to successfully complete construction projects. Comprehensive knowledge of principles, concepts, and techniques in construction or facility operations, with substantial knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. Broad knowledge of trade techniques and practices in construction - including but not limited to concrete, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, grading, and excavating. Valid Driver's License Ability to obtain and maintain OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training Certification Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Project (Schedule)
