Job Summary
Collaborates with the entire health care team, as appropriate, and uses assessment skills to obtain information regarding to the patients actual or potential status. Uses their knowledge and skills as delegated by the provider to work together to prevent when possible, and mitigate when necessary, already present physiological complications associated with specific health problems and/or medical treatment.
Essential Functions
Work and communicate as a part of a multidisciplinary team to direct the daily workflow within the office/department for an improved patient experience and an enhanced team environment.
Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow by directing the team, as well as directly performing as needed, in preparing the patient for the visit/admission, and providing specific services and education as determined by the providers in accordance with licensure and policy.
Maintains an individualized patient plan of care with the patient and consistent with patient / significant others changing needs / goals reflecting full scope of practice as delegated by the provider.
Collects and monitors patient data, reporting patient data and patient needs as directed. Utilizes training/education and rapid recognition skills to intervene as delegated by providers to mitigate situations when advantageous. Documents care consistent with documentation guidelines, and patient chargeable items/services according to standards.
Greets and communicates with patients and significant others in a manner consistent with caring and respect. Communicates, collaborates and anticipates the needs of the other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.
Ensures that processes and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness and efficiency. Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Makes and implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility.
Qualifications
Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Graduate of approved paramedic program
Skills, knowledge, abilities typically gained through less than 2 years of experience as a paramedic. Required
3 years of relevant experience as a paramedic Preferred
successful completion of competency-based orientation program Required
LIC-Paramedic License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Zeeland 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Zeeland 90 Days required
