Position Title: Pharmacist III- Home Infusion

  • Hours of Operation are M - F 8:30 am - 5 pm

  • This position is part time, 20 hours per week

  • May require occasional weekend or extended hours

  • Home Infusion Pharmacy located at Cathedral Square building

Position Summary:

Routinely performs all of the duties of a staff pharmacist but also utilizes a large amount of their assigned work time to a specialty area within the pharmacy that provides direct support or training for other staff. This position often requires odd work schedules, off site meetings, on-call time and weekend shifts in order to maintain software systems while not disrupting departmental operations.

What the Pharmacist III- Home Infusion will need:

  • Five year bachelor of science degree in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.

  • Current registered pharmacist license and controlled substance license issued by the Michigan State Board of Pharmacy.

  • Five or more years of work in a hospital or specialty pharmacy preferred

  • Ideal candidate has home infusion experience; IV antibiotics and nutrition experience

What the Pharmacist III- Home Infusion will do:

  • Reviews, prepares and dispenses medication orders per physician order or prescription according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.

  • Ensures safe, appropriate, cost effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures and protocols.

  • Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners. Suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to physicians, as needed.

  • Provides drug information and counseling to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
