Corewell Health RN Supervisor Outpatient Cardiothoracic Surgery and Structural Heart in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Corewell Health has the most experienced cardiothoracic surgery team in the state of Michigan. We are a quaternary program, which includes all the care available at a community program in addition to specific advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services. Our program includes heart and lung transplantation, artificial heart pumps, robotic heart and lung surgery, catheter-based valve replacement, and cardiothoracic critical care.
We offer the most comprehensive surgery and care for a wide range of complex cardiac conditions. As a referral center, we treat patients from the entire state who require complex initial operations, reoperations, and complex reconstructions. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on state-of the-art care to provide the best outcomes for our patients.
We perform the highest volume of adult open-heart surgeries and lung cancer surgeries in the state of Michigan. This enormous experience translates into better health outcomes for our patients! Our goal is to provide every aspect of heart and lung surgery in West Michigan so that patients do not need to travel elsewhere for their care.
The Cardiothoracic Surgery and Structural Heart Office is adding to our skilled and experienced team. Our program includes heart and lung transplantation, artificial heart pumps, robotic heart and lung surgery, catheter-based valve replacement, and cardiothoracic critical care. Our multidisciplinary team focuses on state-of the-art care to provide the best outcomes for our patients.
Our ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in cardiac care and a passion for leading people. The RN Supervisor will work alongside the Operations Manager to provide efficient and quality care to our patient population.
Scope of Work
Directs the activities of clinical staff within assigned area and ensures the delivery of efficient, smooth patient flow and patient satisfaction.
Essential Functions
Facilitates the delivery of safe, efficient, and timely patient care. Provides clinical care to patients as needed to support and facilitate smooth function, using the nursing process. Assures that a mechanism is in place to track and follow-up on diagnostic tests and referrals.
Acts as a customer advocate and provides ongoing communication with customers, staff, and multidisciplinary team regarding customer, staff, management, and quality issues.
Assumes a leadership role and delegated appropriately to support staff to facilitate safe, quality patient care in a cost-effective manner.
Conducts performance evaluations of staff, sets goals with staff, and collaborates with staff to improve performance, as necessary.
Facilitates a positive work environment which supports staff and encourages professional growth. Guides, mentors, motivates, acts as resource and support to staff, encouraging continual growth as a professional and self-directed learning.
Provides input into the budget, monitors monthly expenses, and approves invoices as directed.
Provides input into the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit/department/division/service/goals and prioritizes them so that they are consistent with patient care/administration needs.
Participates in process improvement activities/research studies, outcomes management in area of accountability.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) Required.
2 years of relevant experience of recent, relevant clinical experience Required.
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required.
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required.
