Our client is seeking a seasoned and motivated Senior Property and Casualty Underwriter with a sharp analytical mindset and a passion for building strategic relationships. You'll be responsible for building and managing a profitable portfolio of excess commercial property and casualty business, ensuring financial performance and risk management align with the company's goals. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct trend analysis and pricing recommendations for new business pipelines and renewals, ensuring profitability and effective risk management.
  • Drive growth through targeted broker relationships, account solicitation, and underwriting program development.
  • Make independent underwriting decisions based on established guidelines and policies, balancing risk with opportunity.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop policy structures that meet client needs while supporting the company's financial objectives.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of underwriting decisions, policy structures, and compliance with industry regulations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Finance, Economics, or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience in Commercial Property underwriting and marketing, with a CPCU designation preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining effective relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • High energy, goal-oriented, and resilient professional with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and listening abilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Traits
  • Demonstrated success in a production-oriented underwriting role.
  • Knowledge of loss-sensitive underwriting techniques.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain high attention to detail under pressure.
