Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine
Position: RN Oncology Seasonal Contract – 13 weeks w/ Bonuses
*Patient Population: * High level PCU level care, Oncology, Chemo, Cardiac w/ drips, postop surgery breast, bladder, lung, colon, crani, etc.
Patient Ratios: 1:4 for PCU, Onc; 1:5 for Med/Tele
Shift: Full Time Days | 7am-7pm 12-hr shfts | 3 shifts per week; to include weekend coverage
Number of Beds: 20 beds
Department Specifics: Active Unit Based Council, Pharmacist and Social Worker on the unit during the day to partner with nurses in patient care, Multidisciplinary Team that works together. chemo training is required; must be within the first 90 days.
Experience Required: Patient and Team focused approach, two (2) years of recent, full-time inpatient acute care experience. Prefer PCU/Step-down experience . Strong critical thinking skills.

Job Summary
As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
What You'll Do
Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Qualifications
Graduate of an Accredited Registered Nursing Program
A current and valid RN license
Minimum of two (2) years of recent, full-time inpatient acute care experience. Prefer PCU/Step-down experience
Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role
