Naval Education and Training Command SUPPORT SERVICES SUPERVISOR in Great Lakes Naval Training Center, Illinois

Summary You will serve as a Support Services Supervisor in the Administrative and Personnel Division of RECRUIT TRAINING COMMAND. Responsibilities You will manage administrative procedures to ensure compliance with established policies or regulations. You will oversee, coordinate, and ensure accuracy of all correspondence, instructions, notices, and military and civilian awards originating from RTC for signature by CO, RTC or higher echelons. You will provide technical and administrative support in all areas of personnel, pay, records, educational services, separations, fleet reserve, gains, losses, DD-214s, records management, Personally Identified Information {PII) You will use word processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and/or print forms, memos, and letters. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Skill in the use of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, spreadsheets, databases, reports as well as email programs; 2) Provide overall technical and administrative direction to administrative support activities, including records management, military correspondence, and administrative budget; 3) Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and professional manner to provide information related to organizational, administrative and procedural matters; 4) Knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and policies that affect administrative operations and areas of responsibility; 5) Experience with the pay and personnel administration process and identifies issues and delays to resolve discrepancies. Education In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree. The major study of such education is in public administration, business administration, industrial engineering, industrial management, or other administrative or management fields related to the position to be filled. OR Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
