About the Job
Cigna is seeking an IT Assets coordinator who will work between the Glasgow and Greenock offices. You will report to, and work in close collaboration with, the IT Service Desk Manager. Having responsibility for the delivery of IT Assets at both offices and ensuring that in-office technology is functioning to an excellent level that enables colleagues to work with minimal technical issues. You will partner with team members from other offices to keep standard operating procedures aligned and on track. You will be expected to work four days a week at your primary office and one day at the alternate office. People management skills are required, although this role will have no direct people management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this job are:
1. Inventory Management:
Track, manage, and maintain an accurate record of all IT hardware.
Conduct regular stock checks and audits to ensure data integrity and compliance.
Monitor inventory levels and forecast needs to ensure adequate stock of critical IT supplies.
2. Purchasing & Procurement:
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to purchase IT equipment and software.
Prepare and process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
3. Stock Control & Reporting:
Monitor and control IT stock levels, ensuring no overstocking or shortages.
Implement systems for tracking the receipt, movement, and disposal of IT assets.
Generate and analyze reports on stock levels, usage, and future requirements.
4. Asset Management:
Responsible for staging laptops, desktops, and thin client devices, ensuring they are properly configured, tested, and ready for deployment to end users.
Collaborate with the IT Workspace team and coordinate application patching and deployment.
Oversee the full lifecycle of IT assets from procurement to disposal.
Maintain accurate records of asset assignments and returns across the organization.
Ensure the safe and secure storage of IT equipment.
5. Coordination & Collaboration:
Collaborate with IT teams, departments, and stakeholders to identify hardware and software needs.
Liaise with finance and procurement departments to ensure alignment on budgets and approvals.
Support the IT team with ad hoc requests related to stock and equipment.
6. Compliance & Best Practices:
Ensure all purchases and stock management activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
Continuously assess and improve the inventory management processes to align with best practices.
7. Deskside Support – 2nd line Service Desk
Site Experience - walk-throughs, spotting problems, getting them fixed - this involves talking to employees and getting their feedback.
Act as 2nd line Support for desktop and site-related issues.
Key Skills / Experience Required:
· Proven experience in inventory management, preferably within IT.
· Familiarity with IT hardware and peripherals.
· Technical currency
· Strong technical knowledge of SCCM
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Experience with inventory management software and procurement processes.
· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Excellent reporting and documentation skills
