The Field Service Engineer for Leica Biosystems is responsible for providing technical service and support on equipment within the company with the objectives of minimizing customer downtime and generating revenue opportunities.
This position is part of the Service Organization located in North Carolina and will be fully remote. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
You will be a part of the Field Service Team and report to the Regional Field Service Manager responsible for troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs. If you thrive in a fast-paced role and want to work to build a world-class service organization—read on.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Provide installation support, maintenance, modification and/or repair on 1-2 groups of mechanical, electromechanical, electronic and/or refrigeration instruments.
Document and complete service administration activities in a timely manner to follow ISO, FDA, and Leica policies.
Actively support the sale of service contracts, assist sales representatives & service team members with system configurations/upgrades, and provide feedback on ways to improve financial performance to generate service revenue
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree with 3+ years of technical diagnostics and repair experience -OR- 5+ years of equivalent technical work experience.
Possessing a valid Driver’s License and meeting fleet eligibility requirements.
Travel - up to 90% daily travel with frequent overnights.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
This position requires flying and/or driving travel, which may potentially include up to 50% overnight stays.
Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50lbs. Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend, and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Networking/IT system upgrades.
Field Service Engineering.
Diagnosing and repairing medical devices, electromechanical equipment, or scientific instruments.
