Sargent is seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Estimator

Sargent in a growing, employee-owned company with a rich, century-long history. We leverage our core capabilities in mass earthmoving to target challenging infrastructure projects for the airport, solid waste, commercial, and renewable energy markets.

Successful candidates will be self-motivated, with strong technical, comprehension, analytical and communications skills. Role involves end-to-end responsibility for bids ranging from $1 to $50MM+, starting with initial document review and following-through to delivery of complete bid submittals.

Key requirements include:

• Reviewing site, plans, specifications and geotechnical reports to develop a complete understanding of scope, schedule, risks, and opportunities

• Completing quantity takeoffs and identifying required work activities

• Procuring subcontractors and material suppliers

• Prepare cost estimates using HCSS Heavy Bid

• Drafting preliminary project schedules

• Pricing and writing bid proposals

• Building and maintaining relationships with clients, engineers, and vendors

• Tracking and developing potential project opportunities

• min of 3-5 years of experience as an Earthwork Estimator

  Experience with Agtek, Carlson Civil or AutoCAD for earthwork takeoff is preferred.

  This position will be based full-time in our Greensboro, NC regional office. Estimator will work with other members of our Mid-Atlantic estimating team primarily targeting projects in the surrounding area. Occasional, short-duration travel may be required.
