Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.

About the Manager Field Inspection Position

As the Manager, Field Inspection you will manage the development and operations of assigned personnel and identify the team’s functional responsibilities to support the operation of the company and its processes and systems. In this role you will establish and communicate the team’s operating strategy and philosophies and drive the accomplishment of objectives to facilitate the Company’s successful operation. The Manager, Field Inspection will also lead a team of Project Inspectors in the inspection and oversight of day-to-day activities on a variety of pipeline, facility, tank, and/or other projects.

What You Get to Do:

  • Participate in review/revision of the Field Projects Mission and Vision and the development of multiyear initiative roadmaps for the Field Project Inspection team.

  • Take part in Field Projects staff meetings and offsite meetings to share information and best practices, discuss issues, drive consistency, and receive direction for local team.

  • Collaborate with Field PMs, Tank PMs, Capital PMs, Operations personnel, and other customers to understand annual work plans and assign the necessary internal and external inspection resources to support various pipeline, facility, tank, and/or other projects.

  • Set clear expectations for inspectors and contractors to comply with Safety Awareness Manual requirements and Life Safety Rules.

  • Develop, manage, and accurately forecast recurring budget.

  • Ensure that all required project documentation, including Survey123 reports, is completed accurately and submitted within required timelines.

  • Serve as Operations Section Chief during Tier 1, 2, and 3 exercises and incidents.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, construction management, or related area of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.

  • Ideally, 8+ years of experience in project management, construction management, and/or project inspection.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Smith Driver certification.

  • 24 Hour HAZWOPER.

  • Knowledge of project management principles and fundamentals.

  • Knowledge of government regulations and industry recommended practices and standards related to pipeline, tanks, and terminals.

  • Practical knowledge of principles and organizational structure of the Incident Command System

  • Commitment to consistently adhere to policies and procedures and be a positive example for others by demonstrating the Company’s core values of Respect, Accountability, Innovation, Safety, and Excellence in completing work assignments.

  • Self-motivated, have phenomenal work ethic and looking for the right company to support your growth.

  • Ideally, 5+ years of experience in the pipeline, oil, gas, and/or energy industry.

  • 3+ years of experience in as a supervisor or manager.

  • PMP Certification.
