Job Information

North Carolina Agriculture & Technical State Unive Research Scientist in Greensboro, North Carolina

Description:

The selected candidate for the Research Scientist position will assist the PI and Co-PIs in the implementation of all research and education activities in the NSF -funded project “ExpandQISE: Track 2: NC A&T QISE Research Workforce Development Programs”.

This 5-year project is focused on two research thrusts: hypersonic computational fluid dynamics ( CFD ) and quantum point defect qubit design. The research of the first thrust is meant to push the state of art in classical methods, while at the same time explore in a judicious way the applied use-inspire programming of Noisy Intermediate Scale Quantum ( NISQ ) computing devices, in search of signatures of quantum advantages. The second thrust includes a highly significant experimental component and a requirement to understand and study the microscopic dynamics of the qubits of one of the most promising design paradigms for future quantum computers: the defect-based quantum computer architecture. Both of the two core research projects leverage advanced Variational Quantum Algorithms ( VQA ).
