Job Summary
Generation Commercial Operations is responsible for overall commercial strategy to optimize the revenue for the generation fleet. Generation Commercial Operations has responsibility for representing the stations from both an operational, technical, and strategic standpoint with the West Virginal Public Service Commission and other regulatory bodies. This position reports to the Manager, Generation Commercial Operations.
Location: Remote
Responsibilities Include:
Develop generation capacity and ancillary revenue forecasts.
Perform variance analysis on the revenue forecast.
Develop fuels and reagent expenses forecast.
Perform financial analysis, evaluation on PJM markets proposed changes as it pertains to the generation fleet.
Perform financial and performance analysis to maximize regulated generation revenue.
Provide support for various regulatory filings and data requests.
Provide support to the Day Ahead Desk:
daily generation offer submissions into the PJM energy market-backup.
Provide support on PJM capacity and energy market rules
generation offer submissions into the PJM capacity market.
pre-auction activities for the capacity market
software technology support
Develop and maintain database and spreadsheet models.
Develop and maintain reporting templates.
Qualifications include:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or Business required.
Minimum 10 years professional work experience required.
Competence with statistical analysis, mathematics and technical concepts and high degree of analytical skill – require 5+ years of experience.
In depth knowledge of PJM market operations preferred
In depth knowledge of energy and capacity market dynamics preferred
General knowledge of fossil plant operations
General knowledge of budget preparation and analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Word
Ability to analyze and present complex data sets.
Deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent time management skills
Proficiency with PJM eSuite – preferred
