The Opportunity Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our Water Resources team. This position will involve hydrology and hydraulic (H&H) engineering across our Transportation and Renewables lifeline sectors. This position may involve a combination of analysis, design, and construction inspection under supervision. What You'll Do Design and analyze hydraulic features such as bridges, culverts, storm drain systems, etc. Assist with the collection and analysis of data to support hydraulic studies. Perform 1D and 2D hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) modeling to evaluate impacts and meet design requirements. Develop scour countermeasures and streambank protection. Compile, write, and edit technical reports on Water Resource projects, including H&H studies, drainage reports, CLOMR, LOMR, No-Rise Certification, and Floodplain Development permits. Prepare drainage exhibits, figures, and project location maps. Under supervision, perform plan preparation that may include typical sections, scope of work, details, grading plans, plan and profiles, and erosion control plans. Create Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP). What We Expect from You B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent is required. EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire. Minimum of 0-2 years of civil engineering experience. Prior engineering internship experience preferred. Working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred. Working knowledge of HEC-HMS, 1D/2D HEC-RAS, HY-8, FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox, and ArcGIS software preferred. Experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access). Excellent communication and writing skills for technical writing competence A proactive approach to working effectively with multidisciplinary teams across company departments.
