Overview
PITT OHIO, a high service transportation solutions provider offering SUPPLY CHAIN, LTL and TRUCKLOAD services is seeking a Diesel Technician- 1st Shift with tractor and trailer repair experience at our Grove City, OH Terminal.
Top rate of pay is $33.19/HR, up to $4/HR with ASE's, $1/HR for having a CDL = $38.19/HR
$600 yearly tool reimbursement

Responsibilities
- Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs fleet equipment safely and correctly;
- Conducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components correctly;
- Informs management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggests corrective actions;
- Identifies and informs management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs on fleet equipment, and takes steps to solve issue if possible;
- Correctly completes work orders and documents;
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance;
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Operate and inspect mechanical equipment to diagnose defects;
- Analyze malfunctions and perform general overhaul, tune up or preventive maintenance of equipment;
- Dismantle and reassemble equipment;
- Plan work procedure using charges, technical manuals and experience;
- Enter labor lines and parts into repair order computer system.
OTHER DUTIES
- Travel to other company shop locations when staff is needed
- React to change productivity and handle other essential tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Two years' verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance with one verifiable experience;
- A valid state-issued driver's license;
- Must pass DOT physical and drug screen;
- A CDL, ASE and State and/or Federal inspection certification is preferred but not required;
- Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers;
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair and maintain a variety of heavy trucks and semi-trailers and other mechanical equipment is required;
- Basic hand tools are required;
- Must have working knowledge of the operating principles of diesel engines and repair of heavy trucks;
- Ability to maintain detailed time and parts used on work orders
- Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to communicate to both internal and external customers
- Computer skills needed for diagnostics.
