Fabcon Precast Lead Quality Technician in Grove City, Ohio
Description
Purpose/Scope
The Quality Lead provides leadership support to the Quality Technicians to ensure compliance with documented Production and Quality procedures, so product is produced that meets or exceeds Quality standards. The Quality Lead will help facilitate the shift to run as smoothly as possible.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all published/posted safety policies.
Supports Quality Technicians to ensure that products and processes align with the relevant requirements.
Works with Production to solve in-house Quality concerns through support of Root Cause Analysis and implementation of corrective actions for process-related concerns.
Responsible for/assists with the calibration program used to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment, testing and measurement equipment, and all other analytical equipment within the facilities.
Reviews non-conforming product and works with relevant parties to determine disposition.
Assists with internal and external audits as required.
Works with the Quality Manager/Supervisor to review Quality trends to prevent and/or reduce defects, determine Root Causes, and initiate actions to correct them.
Liaison with internal parties on matters relating to plant Quality (Engineering, Production, Project Management, and Drafting).
All other duties as assigned (including Quality Technician Responsibilities as needed).
Performs pre- and post-pour inspection and provides Quality support throughout the manufacturing process, including Fresh Concrete Testing and measuring the dimensions of product.
Reports Quality problems to Production personnel and Quality Manager.
Pre-plans for smooth shift transitions and next day readiness.
Communicates well to Production teams, Management, and Quality peers.
Basic Qualifications
Two (2) Years of related experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) to manipulate data.
Ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated ability to operate and make decisions independently.
Proven understanding of inspection techniques including ACI and PCI requirements.
Ability to coach and train Quality Techs and plant workers.
Preferred Qualifications
PCI Level 1 and Level 2 Certified.
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I Certified.
Physical Requirements
Office: Move 25 lbs. (not for all jobs, reasonable accommodations will be made), work with a computer for extended periods of time.
Plant/Yard: Move minimum of 50 lbs., spatial awareness/depth perception, walk, climb, bend at the waist, reach, forceful use of hand tools, vocal projection.
Work Environment
Plant/Yard: All types of weather conditions (year-round, Midwest and Northeast), dirt/dust, noise from heavy machinery/vehicles, vibrations from machinery and vehicles, loud noises, little to no climate control, varying amounts of light, stairs, narrow walkways.
