Diageo Process Specialist, HR Governance in Guadalajara, Mexico

This is a global role which has the objective to act as guardian of Payroll processes and put controls in place as necessary to govern the processes with HR System across the organization.

This role will also lead the governance objectives as a key member of strategic business change projects and improvement initiatives. The role will also be encouraged to investigate complex business process issues or business requirements and develop process and or technical solutions to these issues as well as handle related process changes as required.

The role will also establish and/or track process metrics to measure performance of processes.

  • Payroll Process Governance Domain expert- Design, create and maintain payroll process policies and standards, Define critical metrics and targets and provide insights on the outcomes, Maintain global governance tools, process maps, global documentation, Aim to implement simplification and Global Standards across all markets, Maintain an external perspective on best in class payroll process and apply to improvements , Provide input to the HR Process Board on exceptions to the standards, Build payroll process knowledge and awareness in teams that interact with the end to end process and ensure efficient and effective use of the investment in our HR and payroll systems

  • HR Process domain expert - Process guide for the HR Process Governance Team, DBS and HR Services and the wider HR function. Maintain an end to end process lens and external perspective on best in class HR and Reward process and apply to improvements. Ensure effective and efficient use of the investment in our HR systems. Define right controls regarding change agenda and embed into global business processes. Drive and coordinate elimination of audit findings and risks in timely manner in conjunction with respective teams on global level.

  • Process Governance – Design and Deliver solutions aligned with our HR Strategy. Govern HR processes and develop improvement plans in needed areas. Build the controls and critical metrics in place for effective process governance.

  • HCM system domain guide –Develop a good understanding of HCM system enabling the HR processes and provide specialist support as need to the HR Process Governance Team, DBS and HR Services and the wider HR function. Plays a key role in partnership across the DBS Workday support teams and Business Shared Services to handle the HRIS upgrades.

  • Process Change Improvement / Management . Build process knowledge and capability within HR and the service centres. Plays a key role in process standardization. Initiate global changes, drive implementation and organisational change. Create possibilities to optimise, simplify and automate end to end HR process and multi-functional processes impacting HR.

  • Key partner Management & Project Management – Plays a key role in highlighting process performance issues to leadership team and governance bodies for resolution. As domain guides on HR business processes, required to work within project teams and with senior functional partners to interpret business requirements into system function

Key Candidate requisites for the role

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience working across HR processes with good knowledge of Payroll policy, processes, and its systems

  • Build payroll process knowledge and awareness in teams that interact with the end to end process

  • Experience in payroll process management at both an operational and strategic level in a multi-country / multi-vendor payroll environment

  • Good Experience interpreting business requirements, recognizing impact on business processes, and making recommendations

  • Experience of process mapping end to end and competent using Visio or similar tools. Knowledge of Aris would be an added advantage

  • Lean/6 Sigma experience would be advantageous

  • Ability to solve problems, diagnose issues and develop appropriate solutions

  • Project and Change Management experience

  • Consistent record as a collaborative teammate, able to work in a multi-functional project team and collaborate to deliver to bold timelines

  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal

  • Ruthless attention to detail

  • Good organizational understanding

  • Experienced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • Maintain an external perspective on best in class payroll process and apply to improvements
